We’re still fairly early in 2015 and I have already found five things I adore. This is a pretty diverse list but what can I say? I’m pretty well-rounded!
Regardless of the Twitter drama, I’m really loving this album. It’s not an album for the youngins as she’s very explicit but she also isn’t your typical hip hop artist. She expresses herself through Baltimore-club sounding songs, grimy hip hop, and even has a Beach Boys-esque song. There will definitely be at least one song to fit your mood. My personal favorites are 212 and Chasing Time.
Chalene Johnson’s Podcast – The Chalene Show
I have loved Chalene since my days of Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire. She has a bubbly, positive personality that makes her perfect to listen to during a rough commute or right before a workout. She’s expanded her brand to include life coaching and she’s had some really interesting guests on her show like Bo Jackson, Jordan Harbinger and Tony Horton. One of my favorite episodes is called Motivation and Energy on Demand.
I’ve been using seamless combs for years but after my mother-in-law’s dogs chewed one of them up, it was less than seamless. I had the Magic Star Jumbo rake but I decided to extend my collection. I use the Mini Rake on wash days (since I’m freshly relaxed) and the Lady Star to take down wraps or just for smoothing. I’m noticing less breakage using these.
I got a sample of this from Sephora when I placed an order for Christmas and I’ve been in love with it ever since. This is such a sexy scent that I feel like it would be perfect for date night. If possible, I would get a sample to see how your skin reacts but it smells great on mine. Best part? The scent lingers all day. I spritz it before I leave for work in the morning and it doesn’t start to taper off until the end of the day. I can’t wait to add this to my stash!
In my ongoing effort to get healthy, I find that little steps make all the difference. I’ve been a FitBit advocate for years but this is a new addition that I really like. You can challenge people in four different ways and help motivate yourself to take a few more steps. I was challenged last week for the Workweek Hustle and, because of my gym visits, I won! I’m looking for more non-scale victories so this is the perfect way to push myself into a fitter me.
