And the final group is officially on the golf course. Woodland (10 under) Kisner (nine) and Koepka (eight) in the last grouping today. Tiger runs it by the left edge from six feet and there’s a bogey his first of the day. He’s five under and five off the lead. One under for his round.
And Woods pours in the 5-footer for birdie! THat’s four birds in eight holes to start his round. He’s six behind the lead. Thomas and Rory also clean up birdies. On to the 9th. From the front bunker Rory blasts to tap-in range and that should be good enough for his first birdie of the day. That’ll end a run of 16 straight pars for Rors.
Rory goes first and lays back with an iron. Tiger does the same. Thomas rips the big dog and it settles just left of the green in a pretty good spot to pitch from. The tees are up on 11 and the par-4 is playing 297 yards with a lake on the right. The group is going to let the green clear so expect to see some drivers here.
Fowler sinks a four-footer for birdie at 17 to move back to -9 two back. Justin Thomas makes his putt to close with a bogey. He’ll head into Sunday at -8. Adam Scott misses his short birdie try at 18. He’ll settle for a par to finish the day at -10 just one off the lead.
Drivers all around for Tiger Rory and JT on the long and tough par-4 10th. All in the fairway. Tiger taps and turns in four under for the round and the event. Tiger gives it a rap and it comes to rest about 2 feet short. Not shabby. Looks like a safe par.
